MFP-03 MIDI Filer Documentation

Here you can download the operating manual and the complete hardware documentation (schematics, BOM, PCB, and housing drawings). But first please read the following terms and conditions before proceeding with download.

Important — please read carefully prior to download

  1. All documentation available for download here is Copyright © 1995-2001 Luchezar Iliev Georgiev. All international rights are strictly reserved. It may be freely used, printed, copied and redistributed in its unmodified form to any country, planet, galaxy and universe, provided that no fee is charged for such redistribution. It is provided „as-is“, without warranty of any kind, either expressed or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. The author further expressly disclaims any warranty that the design does not infringe upon any third party’s intellectual property rights. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of implied warranties, so the above limitations may not apply. This is a preliminary information about a device which has not entered production yet, and is subject to change at any time without prior notice.
  2. The hardware documentation may be freely used for production purposes, without any financial obligation to the author. Keep in mind however that without the firmware, the manufactured units will be unusable. Therefore, please contact me for licensing the firmware on a royalty basis if you intend to manufacture the unit.
  3. All company and product names mentioned in the documentation are for identification purposes only, and may be trademarks of their respective owners, which may be registered under certain jurisdictions. They are not necessarily endorsed by the author.
  4. The MFP-03 is capable of copying songs, directories and diskettes, as described in the manual. There are no technical measures against copying of copyrighted songs in the unit, and there will never be. If an user is unconscientious, he or she may of course illegally copy as many copyrighted works as he or she wishes, thus infringing the copyright. And believe me, nothing’s gonna stop him or her from doing this — he or she may use any personal computer for this purpose if he or she is unable to do so with the MIDI Filer. Any restrictions for copying copyrighted work will turn against the honest user, because he or she will be unable for example to transfer his or her repertoire from the several tens of „normal“ diskettes to the new LS-120™ format, and so on. Let’s not treat our prospective users like suspected criminals!

By downloading any document below you’re bound with the terms and conditions outlined above.

1. The Operating Manual

[The MFP-03 MIDI Filer]

Here’s the English version of the MFP-03 MIDI Filer Operating Manual: [manual.pdf]

(The Bulgarian version is available from the author on request.)

Note: To read the manual, Adobe® Acrobat® Reader version 3.0 or higher is required. If you haven’t got it, get your free copy: [Acrobat Reader]

Alternatively, use xpdf or GhostScript: [GhostScript]

(In 1995 Netscape® and Adobe have announced that native support for reading Acrobat PDF files will be in version 2 of Netscape Navigator™ — a broken promise!)
